These Direct To DVD films were intended for a more mature audience than Saturday morning cartoons, and gave fans a full movie experience before the MCU even existed!
This movie adapts THE ULTIMATES, a comic book series that rebooted the Avengers, presenting dark and edgy versions of Iron Man, Captain America, Thor , Nick Fury and the Hulk! The Ultimates changed the comic book industry forever, and laid the exact blueprint for the MCU!

Carnage was easily the BIGGEST supervillain of the 90’s! The crazy red symbiote killer not only battled Spider-Man and Venom, he exploded out of Marvel Comics and became a multimedia star, with his own theme park ride and his own Sega / Nintendo video game. Rob and Will explore this retro 16 bit Beat 'em up classic that adapted the Maximum Carnage comic book event, and the HUGE publicity campaign that included Carnage TV adverts and Carnage cinema trailers!
